Nigerian GPU cloud and infrastructure company Udu Technologies has partnered with South Korean AI infrastructure firm Baro AI to expand access to high-performance computing for governments, businesses and research institutions across Africa.
The agreement, signed on Wednesday, September 9, at the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Ministerial Conference in Seoul, gives UduTech access to Baro AI's multi-GPU Poseidon servers and expands the hardware available through its AGH Cloud platform.
The partnership comes as African organisations face a shortage of the computing infrastructure required to develop and run increasingly demanding AI systems.

Africa has less than 1% of global data-centre capacity and an even smaller share of the GPU infrastructure needed for AI workloads. For organisations seeking to deploy AI at scale, the problem is therefore not simply finding an AI model to use. It is having enough computing power to run it.
UduTech says African buyers can also face hardware delivery delays of up to 36 weeks from major suppliers such as Dell, HP and Supermicro, whose servers commonly use NVIDIA GPUs.
“When African organisations issue Request for Proposal (RFPs) for AI infrastructure, they shouldn’t have to face global chip scarcity and 36-week hardware delays,” said Alexander Tsado, CEO of Udu Technologies. “Our partnership with Baro AI disrupts this status quo.”
Founded in February 2025 by former NVIDIA engineer Tsado, UduTech is building a distributed GPU infrastructure business intended to bring computing resources and sensitive data closer to African users.
Its AGH Cloud platform operates the Africa GPU Hub, with deployments in Nigeria and the United States.
The Baro partnership gives UduTech another source of GPU hardware as it responds to procurement requests from governments and businesses. The company expects the additional supply to give customers greater flexibility around hardware availability, pricing and delivery times, although those factors will vary depending on the GPUs and capacity required.
Baro's Poseidon servers could also allow UduTech to deploy high-performance computing in locations that are not conventional data centres. The systems use liquid cooling and are designed to operate with lower noise, making them potentially suitable for environments such as banks and telecommunications companies.
“By bringing their low-noise, liquid-cooled Poseidon servers into our AGH Cloud ecosystem, we can bypass traditional backlogs and deliver high-performance compute directly to banks, telcos, and governments right when they need it,” Tsado said.
For Baro AI, the partnership provides an entry point into an African market where demand for local AI infrastructure is growing and governments are increasingly interested in computing capacity that can support domestic AI applications.

The deal does not solve Africa's wider computing shortage on its own. GPUs remain expensive, power-intensive pieces of infrastructure, and putting them closer to African users does not necessarily make AI computing affordable.
But it addresses one of the more immediate bottlenecks: getting the hardware in the first place.
For UduTech, the opportunity is to turn access to scarce computing infrastructure into a business. For its potential customers, the more important question is whether that infrastructure can eventually make high-performance AI computing easier—and cheaper—to access on the continent.
